Yondabakari river, Varisia
Fireday the 8th of Neth, 4707 AR
Once Ainsel had reunited with her friends in Wartle, the Sihedron equipped themselves with their newly acquired gear, said their goodbyes to Shalelu and set sail once more on the river Yondabakari. Later, while manning the craft’s tiller, Kivu noticed a huge shadow passing beneath the Stargazer’s hull. Rising up into the air to investigate, Aubrey studied the submerged creature and, using his glamour, identified it as an argorth; a malevolently abhorrent monster revered by the faithful of Lamashtu. Quickly, Kivu steered the ship into the river bank as everyone else hopped ashore. Then, rising up out of the muck and water as if from a nightmare, the towering argorth appeared as a thrashing mess of gnashing teeth and writhing tentacles. A pitched battle ensued as the Sihedron fought to keep their lives and wits intact throughout the argorth’s onslaught. Fighting on beyond all reason, the Lamashtu-spawn was eventually defeated and left to rot on the muddy banks of the river.
While the Sihedron tended to their wounds, a handful of humanoids were spotted as they lurked suspiciously in the nearby treeline. Opting for diplomacy rather than unjustified aggression, the group approached and hailed the half-dozen humans as they emerged from the underbrush. Their leader, a stout woman, merely asked if they were responsible for the argorth’s death. When answered in the affirmative she immediately ordered her companions to attack. Rushing forth from the treeline, the foolish skirmishers quickly broke against the Sihedron’s superior martial might. Most died in the counterattack while two survivors were taken prisoner and a single archer somehow evaded the Sihedron’s pursuit. The spryte used his glamour to discern this lone fugitive’s name: Jagreth Creed.
Wasting little time, the Sihedron searched the bodies of the fallen and dredged the argorth’s nearby warren for any valuables before returning to the Stargazer with their two bound prisoners. Once more they set sail; their next stop being the town of Whistledown on the banks of lake Syrantula to the east.
